Gucci introduces custom Animoji for iOS

Based off of Alessandro Michele's dogs Bosco and Orso

Gucci is the first fashion brand to introduce its own Animoji. Celebrating the Year of the Dog, the interactive addition is a feature on its app and are based on Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele’s own dogs – Bosco and Orso. These animated renderings of the dogs were created by frequent Gucci collaborator Unskilled Worker, who created a range of artwork and graphics that appeared in a Gucci collection. This feature allows iPhone X users to record video clips of themselves as Bosco and Orso – emulating the users’ own voice and facial expressions. Aside from that, users can explore Gucci’s app to find exclusive wallpapers, videos and other goodies. There’s even a game featuring the popular Dionysus bag.

Gucci’s been killing it – they’ve been named the hottest brand of the year by Business of Fashion and Lyst. Alessandro Michele has been able to tap into a strong consumer base with a design language that has completely revitalised the once-lagging Kering brand. Its push into digital offerings is a testament to Gucci’s way of connecting with its consumers and being relevant to the millennial generation.

Gucci also released a full collection to celebrate Year of the Dog, featuring a range of items that feature dog graphics. The collection is available now, and you can check out Gucci’s Animoji on its app here
