Daft Punk announces breakup on YouTube with “Epilogue” video

Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo (aka. Daft Punk) have just announced their breakup on YouTube with a video titled “Epilogue” after 28 years of making music together.

The legendary duo formed in 1993 in Paris and made their official debut four years later with their album, “Homework”, which featured the now-classic dance club anthems, “Around The World” and “Da Funk.”

Other earworms Daft Punk created include “One More Time” and “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger,” while their more recent hits include their collaboration with Pharrell for “Get Lucky” and The Weeknd on his 2016 hit single “Starboy” – not to mention its follow-up, “I Feel It Coming.”

Not just credited for reinventing French house music, Daft Punk was also known for their futuristic fashion sense, especially their robot makeover in 2006 and public appearances as robots that followed (check out the evolution of their signature robot style).
