On Thursday December 6th, Meher Tatna, the President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced a new prestigious award similar to the renowned Cecil B. DeMille award. The still-unnamed honour will be given out during this year’s Golden Globe Awards and will recognise individuals whose careers have had a great impact on the television industry. 

There will be familiar faces among awards presenters, with Christian Slater, Danai Gurria, Terry Crews and Leslie Mann reading out the nominees, which will take place on January 6 (8EST, 5PST) at the International Ballroom in the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

This year’s nominations include films that appear in more than three categories, like “Vice” which has six nominations, followed by ‘’The Favourite”, “Green Book” and “A Star is Born” each of which feature in five categories.

Some of this year’s nominees include Lady Gaga who is nominated for the Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for her role in “A Star is Born”, Emma Stone for the Best Actress in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture for “The Favourite” and Jim Carrey for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for “Kidding”.

The host of the award show Sandra Oh is also a nominee in the category Best Performance by an Actress in a TV series for her role in “Killing Eve.” Andy Samberg will also be hosting the award show with her.

The award show will be broadcasted live in NBC.
