Burberry drops collaboration with Kris Wu
Dec 19, 2017
Burberry just unveiled a collaboration with actor, musician and brand’s ambassador Kris Wu. The exclusive pieces, personally curated by creative director Christopher Bailey and Wu, include reinventions of classics – like a trench coat with prints of Wu’s tattoos – as well as some unique styles.
“Working with him has enabled us to push the traditional boundaries often associated with collaborations, and jump head first into a rich and truly mutual creative partnership. He is one of his generation’s unique talents and it is a great privilege and pleasure to work with him,” Bailey said in a statement.
The collection reflects Wu’s creativity, featuring his artworks and song lyrics as well his personal style. Some highlights include a biker jacket, printed vintage check cotton oversized t-shirts and an oft-touch plastic cagoule in Modern Stewart Royal tartan.
“I was so inspired by the spirit, forward-thinking attitude and heritage of Burberry that I wrote and recorded a new Hip-Hop track called ‘B.M.’ which encapsulates my experience with the fashion house,” Wu said.
In the track, a celebration of both his long-standing passion for fashion and his relationship with the brand, he closed the London’s menswear show in January 2016 and became an ambassador in October 2016: Wu sings “I’m Burberry Made.”
Burberry x Kris Wu is now available online worldwide and in selected stores. Additional pieces will be introduced in January 2018.
