It might be a bit out of the way to go for a facial or spa treatment if you, like us, are based on Hong Kong island, but that’s kind of why you should go. It forces yourself to take some time out of your schedule and actually relax. Greeted by views of the iconic Hong Kong harbourfront in one of bliss spa’s suites, our Natura Bissé Diamond Multisensorial Lifting Experience started off with The Mindful Touch VR experience. After matching up your eyes with their headset, you lay down and start an eight-minute immersive virtual reality meditation. Rolling landscapes of water, the sky and nature complement the guided meditation, helping you to focus purely on your breathing and how your body is feeling rather than that sinking feeling at the back of your mind about the inevitable work emails and Whatsapps blowing up your phone.

The 90-minute treatment started with a balancing of chakras using a variety of different warm gems and a comforting warm lavender pillow was placed on my stomach and back. This was then followed by a deep-acting facial using luxury Spanish beauty brand Natura Bissé’s Diamond line of anti-ageing products. The powerful active ingredients combined with the innovative massage techniques help to rejuvenate the skin and restore hydration and a natural glow to the face.

I’m not usually a fan of facials that don’t come with extractions (controversial, I know) as I feel like I have enough beauty products, masks and candles at home to replicate the experience otherwise. However, I was genuinely surprised with how effective the massage techniques were. My therapist, Joyce, at one point used her fingers to gently lift the skin and encourage lymphatic drainage, which immediately got rid of all the water retention in my face. The result? A slimmer and more sculpted appearance and bouncy, re-energised skin. This is definitely one to indulge in before a big event or for brides pre-wedding.
