Demna Gvasalia does it again (check out Vetements’ take over for Hong Kong here), putting something surprising on the classic raincoat for Vetements. This time around, he takes inspiration from the Zodiac – quite literally. Aptly named the Horoscope Raincoat, this piece is constructed from a coated fabric that would be perfect for a rainy, windy or dry but cool day. It features a description of each horoscope sign on the back, printed in gray. With a knee-length cut, the jackets also shows off your zodiac on the front with golden Vetements branding on the hood. Of course, it wouldn’t be Vetements without a bit of a remix on a classic silhouette, so the sleeves here are exaggerated and long. 

The raincoat is a staple item from the brand helmed by Gvasalia (who’s also Balenciaga’s creative director). Vetements has gained a cult following for their unexpected takes on classic “everyday” items – for example, ankle booties with Bic lighters as heels or reworked denim with surprising cuts and design elements. Operating as a “design collective” rather than a traditional “brand,” the label’s CEO is Guram Gvasalia, Demna’s brother. Vetements’ comfortable and relaxed but unique and surprising designs are the perfect example of what millennials are looking for today.
