Rick Owens Debuts Furniture Book at Milan Design Week

American fashion designer Rick Owens has unveiled “Rick Owens: Furniture” at Milan Design Week.

The oversized coffee-table book traces the creative process that saw his label expand from fashion to furniture. First introduced in 2007, this year marks the tenth anniversary of Owens’ interior design business, which has maintained a similar theme and aesthetic to his clothing: brutalist, abstract and thought provoking. His furniture has been highly sought after by many creatives, notably Sacai designer Chitose Abe.

The book showcases Owens in his many different work environments, incorporating notes from Egyptian tombs, Art Deco, leather bars and war bunkers into his distinctive pieces.
