New York’s Met Has The Largest Ever Michelangelo Exhibit

Michelangelo, a towering genius in the history of Western art, will be the subject of a once-in-a-lifetime exhibition called “Michelangelo: Devine Draftsman and Designer”, opening at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in November.

The show will feature 150 drawings and three marble sculptures of the Renaissance master, including his first known painting – “The Torment of Saint Anthony” and also other works from 54 public and private collections all over the United States and Europe.

The exhibition examines Michelangelo’s mastery of drawing, design, sculpture, painting and architecture  through his powerful imagery and dazzling technical virtuosity that continue to provided the foundations for so much of modern art.

The exhibition will run from November 13, 2017 through February 12, 2018.
