Watch Gucci's Intergalactic Winter Campaign and Be Amazed

Jul 26, 2017

Gucci’s Fall Winter 2017 campaign is out of this world, and we’re loving it. The high fashion house, led by Creative Director Alessandro Michele, teamed up with Glen Luchford to transform retro-science fiction from tacky-drab, to luxe-fab. Tapping hard into the nostalgia factor, the brand references all the best 50s and 60s shows, with a heavy Star Trek influence. The official Gucci statement says it best, “This season the collection is transported to a parallel universe where a mixed cast of humanoids, aliens, robots and earthlings unite for the Gucci invasion from a galaxy far, far away. Human characters interact with extra-terrestrial creatures and dinosaurs on Earth and are then beamed up to surreal, psychedelic outer space landscapes and trippy spaceship interiors, creating wild and fantastical compositions.”

In short: it’s weird, it’s wonderful and it’s perfectly unexpected - exactly what we want from fashion, and Michele. “If looks were the same all the time, we wouldn’t feel anything we wouldn’t react,” says #legend Creative Director Kim Bui Kollar, “this is why we love fashion.”
