Fondation Louis Vuitton Exhibits Rare Monet and Picasso From Russian Collector

​Icons of Modern Art: The Shchukin Collection exhibition at Fondation Louis Vuitton has opened, paying tribute to Sergei Shchukin, a visionary Russian art collector and arguably one of the greatest art patrons of the early 20th century. Shchukin’s collection of French modern art include major works from Monet, Cezanne, Gauguin, Rousseau, Derain, Matisse and Picasso, alongside works from Degas, Renoir, Toulouse-Lautrec and Van Gogh.

Guests in attendance at the opening night included actresses Léa Seydoux and Chiara Mastroianni, model Eva Herzigova, artist Olafur Eliasson, multimedia artist Saskia Bodekke and Christine Lagarde, managing director of IMF.

The exhibition is now on at the Fondation Louis Vuitton until February 20, 2017. www.fondationlouisvuitton.fr
