One of the emperors of French gastronomy, Joël Robuchon, will be honored in a tribute dinner prepared by some of the world’s top chefs next month, who will recreate the chef’s most iconic dishes at a restaurant in Spain.

Organized by Andalusian chef Dani Garcia, the dinner will bring together 18 chefs representing 71 Michelin stars between them, including heavy hitters such as Daniel Humm of Eleven Madison Park in New York; Joan Roca of El Celler de Can Roca in Girona Spain; and Quique Dacosta of his eponymously named restaurant in Alicante.

Now in its third year, Garcia’s “A Cuatro Manos” dinner series (which means “Four Hands”) will take place over four nights at his restaurant Dani Garcia in Marbella in April, each night different from the other.

On opening night, Robuchon will be given the spotlight: The French chef holds the title for, at one point, having held the most Michelin stars (28) in the world.

The dinner will take guests on an edible journey of Robuchon’s career, recreating some of the most celebrated dishes of his repertoire.

On the second night, Garcia will challenge himself to cook “unplugged” without using any modern equipment. He will be joined by fellow Andalusian chefs Angel Leon and Paco Morales.

On the third night, he will cook with Humm, and the fourth night, with Frank Sebastian of Horvath in Berlin.

Last year, chefs paid tribute to legendary Spanish chef Ferran Adrià.
