Have you heard? Leonardo DiCaprio has just invested in Beyond Meat. Yep, that’s right. Following in Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Richard Branson’s footsteps, he’s the latest to back the Beyond Burger craze, which hit Hong Kong earlier this summer (check out our Beyond Burger taste test here or below). Beyond Meat’s 100% plant-based ‘Beyond Burger’ patty, is the best vegetarian and eco-friendly alternative out there and can pretty much pass as beef.
“Livestock production is a major contributor to carbon emissions. Shifting from animal meat to the plant-based meats developed by Beyond Meat is one of the most powerful measures someone can take to reduce their impact on our climate,” said DiCaprio.
Hong Kong is finally starting to cater more for vegetarians and the health-conscious, with several new spots offering up their own take on the Beyond Burger.
