Full-length waterproof skirts took centre stage this Monday in a graceful performance by two Paris Opera principal dancers, one of whom was Marie-Agnès Gillot, a first-time commercial designer who choreographed the original dance specially for the launch of her collaboration with cult French label Petit Bateau.

The ballerinas’ fluid movements accentuated Gillot’s elegant reinterpretations of Petit Bateau classics, as they moved through the water in the Palais Royal’s circular pond.

As demonstrated, the Haute Couture line includes waterproofed garments ready to be worn dancing in rain or shine, as well as revamped favourites from the fashion house. The Petit Bateau X Marie-Agnès Gillot capsule collection will become available online and at the Petit Bateau Champs-Elysées flagship on October 25, 2017. To find out more see WWD.com
