Adidas is releasing a BAPE Dame 4 sneaker collection

Adidas is releasing a collection with Japanese streetwear stalwart BAPE, centered around Portland Trailblazer’s All-Star player Damian Lillard’s Dame 4 basketball shoe. This on-court style is flashy and features BAPE’s signature camo print and shark graphics, fusing streetwear and functional sportswear. The collaboration came about because of Lillard’s affinity for BAPE, and as a longtime fan, he’s spoken previously about his interest in collaborating. During his visit to BAPE’s flagship in Tokyo, Lillard said, “I became even more inspired by the brand when I visited BAPE’s store in Japan. From that point, I knew I wanted the first major collaboration for my signature line to be with BAPE.”

The Dame 4 features BOUNCE cushioning for enhanced comfort and flexibility, while a technologically-advanced textile upper makes sure the shoe is lightweight and breathable. A neoprene collar and ankle-high construction is secure and snug, lessening the chance of injury. This particular collaboration with BAPE features three colourways – green, black and red. BAPE’s signature camo is on the upper, while the classic Shark tooth design highlights the midsole. Other design elements include the WGM graphic, which stands for “World Gone Mad,” in addition to Damian’s YKWYTII “You know what time it is” motto.

All three colourways will become available on February 16 for $160 USD (approximately HK$1251) during adidas’s 747 Warehouse in Los Angeles during All-Star Weekend. The Black Camo and Green Camo colourways will be available on February 17 online at adidas.com and at BAPE retailers.
